Successful sale for Anna & Etienne Drion's Coulonces Consignment

Coulonces Consignment had another highly successful August Sale at Deauville with a draft of yearlings that realised over €1,700,000. Their two highest priced lots, lot 178, a filly by Teofilo out of Tipperary Honor and lot 109, a Shamardal colt out of Nipping, both sold for €240,000 respectively. The filly was bred by Anna's parents, Jan and Maja Sundström, who bred Le Havre, winner of the 2009 Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club. Her half brother by Footstepsinthesand, Beauvoir, won the Prix de Crèvecoeur at Deauville first time out on August 9th, just 2 weeks before the sale. He was sold for €200,000 as a yearling by the Coulonces Consignment in 2010.

Anna and Etienne's Haras du Grand Chene at Survie in Normandy is an old sheep farm which Etienne converted to a thoroughbred stud three years ago. Anna had previously been based at Haras de Coulonces with her parents before she and Etienne got married. Originally from Sweden, the Sundströms moved to France more than six years ago and settled near Argentan, in the heart of the French thoroughbred breeding region. They operate as Team Hogdala, and Jan and Maja have continued to run Haras de Coulonces as a private farm.

Saracen are very proud to be involved in their success.
