Product code: 111529
Diet Description
Recoup 11® is a highly palatable sweetfeed designed for horses on box-rest, or in light work following an injury, or a break from training. The oil level and highly digestible fibres, such as soya hulls, alfalfa and sugar beet pulp, will maintain appropriate body condition while horses are on the 'easy list', and keep them manageable. The feed is fortified with Stamm 30® supplement for nutrient continuity.
Using Recoup 11® during convalescence or light exercise makes for a smooth transition between the higher energy racing feeds within the Saracen range, as their nutrient levels and ingredients are very compatible. It is suitable for feeding to yearlings as they are being broken in to help maintain an even temperament, before upgrading the energy levels in their diet as work levels increase.
Every bag of Saracen feed is manufactured in a UFAS accredited mill, and undergoes strictly documented quality control procedures. A comprehensive system is in place to ensure the consistency and quality of all products manufactured by Saracen Horse Feeds for equine use.
Saracen Horse Feeds joined the new code of practice for feed manufacturers that the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) put in place on 1st October 2009. The Universal Feed AssuranceScheme (UFAS), Naturally Occurring Prohibited Substances (NOPS) Code has been developed by BETA in response to the increased incidence of positive dope tests in racehorses. The NOPS scheme, whilst not a guarantee, is a risk-assessment based approach to reducing the chance of feed being contaminated with naturally occurring prohibited substances, such as morphine, for example.
Both the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and the National Trainers Federation (NTF) have endorsed the BETA NOPS Code, which is now incorporated into our UFAS annual audit. As an approved member of the new code, we use the logo like a kitemark, a sign of reassurance to owners and trainers of the stringent quality management procedures that have been undertaken during every step of the sourcing, storage, transport and manufacturing processes for each product.
Saracen operate a strict bonding policy as part of its manufacturing process for our racing range of products (clearly marked on our packaging with a “bonded” symbol). These products are bonded and kept in isolation in a designated quarantine area at our main site in Aylesford prior to release for sale. To clear our bonding process, aggregate samples from each batch are submitted to the Horse Racing Forensic Laboratory (HFL) in Newmarket.
HFL Sports Science has been testing commercially prepared feed for the horseracing industry for over 20 years. They offer a screening service designed to assist feed manufacturers in their quality control process. Analysis is performed to high international standards (ISO 17025) using state of the art mass spectrometric detection systems, capable of detecting contaminants at very low levels (ng/g). The product is only released for sale on receipt of a certificate from the HFL stating that with regards to caffeine & theobromine “None were found”.
