Diet Description
Foals double their birth weight by one month of age and treble it by three months of age. They are therefore going through the fastest period of growth in their lives. At six months of age they will have reached half of their mature weight and usually by the time they are a year old they have reached 65-75% of their adult height. In the first twelve months of a youngster's life the promotion of correct normal skeletal development through correct feeding and management is critical.
Level-Grow® is a weanling diet that is specially formulated to produce a reduced Glycemic response in growing foals and pregnant mares. This differs from conventional stud diets which are traditionally higher in soluble carbohydrates and tend to produce a high Glycemic response and may compromise normal growth patterns. Recent research has shown this to be a factor in promoting normal skeletal development. Level-Grow provides high levels of 'Super Fibres' and oil, together with quality protein sources and essential micronutrients for all types of youngstock.
Recent ongoing field trials are showing that there is a definite relationship between the Glycemic nature of feeds and correct normal skeletal development in foals.
