Diet Description
A highly palatable mix to encourage the newly weaned foal. A temporary loss of appetite and subsequent reduction in growth rate is frequently observed after weaning, so a tempting feed is required at this time, to meet the growing animal's needs. Research has shown that creep fed foals appear to cope with the stresses of weaning more easily, so this mix is the natural follow-on from Foal Starter Mix.

• Weaning is a stressful and traumatic time - foals can become distraught, and this can affect feed intake. Foals that do not consume enough feed after weaning may show decreased weight gain, or in extreme cases, a loss of weight. This transition into the weanling phase needs to be smooth, and a consistent feeding pattern maintained by the foal as far as possible.
• By using this nutrient dense mix, which is balanced to provide the correct nutrient levels, it is possible to create the optimum dietary balance to promote skeletal development, and encourage consistent daily weight gain, reducing the risk of skeletal defects.
