Briony attended the Saracen Gala Day in June and had a great day which was topped off by winning a lesson with Reining Champion Shane Borland in our prize draw! Here, Briony tells us a bit about herself and her experience:
"I have ridden from a young age, competed in both eventing and dressage and have three horses. Davey, a Welsh Section C is 21; Strathspey, a highland cross thoroughbred is 29, and my project horse, Benicio, a PRE Spanish gelding who is 4.
Never having ridden western style before, I was excited to try western riding on a specially trained horse but didn't really know what to expect, I had no idea that by the end of the lesson I would be attempting sliding stops and fast turns! An absolutely amazing experience, the training in itself really impressed me, they were so responsive to the point where moving my hands an inch either way would influence a change in direction! This was amazing to the point that I am planning to take my own horse there for some training. I had an absolutely brilliant time and would like to thank both Saracen and Shane for giving me the opportunity to do this."
