Aqlaam takes up stallion duties for Shadwell in 2010
Bred by Granham Farm near Marlborough, Aqlaam is owned by Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum and will stand at Nunnery Stud in 2010. This year, he won the Summer Mile Gr. 2 at Ascot on 11th July, was 2nd to Goldikova in the Jacques Le Marois Gr.1 at Deauville on 16th August and then won the Prix du Moulin Gr 1 at Longchamp on 6th September.
An Oasis Dream colt out of Bourbonella, a Rainbow Quest mare, the horse has really done his breeders proud. David and Dawn Hearson, the owners of Granham Farm, were delighted to sell his yearling half-sister for 300,000 guineas at Book 1 of Tattersalls October Sale. The filly was purchased by Shadwell Stud.
