Saracen sponsors 2009 TBA Annual Stud Farming Course
Saracen Horse Feeds are involved as a sponsor with the 2009 Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Annual Stud Farming course, alongside Merial Equine Health and the Niniski Trust. The course will be held at the British Racing School in Newmarket from Tuesday 8th - Thursday 10th December. Dr Joe Pagan, President of Kentucky Equine Research, will be coming over from Lexington to cover the nutrition part of the course, giving the most up-to-date research findings on feeding broodmares, stallions and youngstock in all stages of growth and development.
The course provides an opportunity to update veterinary and stud knowledge, and covers all aspects of stud management including reproductive management of the mare, foaling and foal care, nutrition, genetics, worming and vaccination protocols, and management of the foal and yearling. There will be visits to Rossdale & Partners Equine Hospital and to Lanwades Stud.
Speakers will include prominent experts in veterinary medicine from the Newmarket Equine hospital, Rossdale and Partners and the Royal Veterinary College plus industry experts in sales preparation, stallion management and farriery. Delegates will have the chance make contact with speakers and to ‘pick their brains’ both during and after the formal sessions.
