For Those Who... Prefer Piaffe
This rider needs little introduction. Carl Hester was a member of the 2004 Olympic Dressage Team, the third time he has represented Great Britain at the Olympics -2008 saw Carl miss out by sheer bad luck when both his horses were side-lined with injury. He holds 39 National Titles and has been National Grand Prix Dressage Champion four times. Carl continues to be one of the UK's most prolific home grown talent and is much sought after for both his training and riding talent, here in the UK and abroad. Since Saracen Horse Feeds started working with Carl in 2004, Carl's horses have gone from strength to strength and Carl is quick to acknowledge the part Saracen have played in getting them there:
'Since we started feeding Saracen, our horses have behaved and performed better than ever before; we think the competition results speak for themselves'.
2008 has been a year of highs and lows for Carl – not being able to represent GB at the Olympics was a great disappointment – but his younger horses have been winning classes all year and he now has a great new Grand Prix horse who he took to Saumur and was delighted with his results. Carl won at Saumur CDI, France 26-28th September –taking the grand prix special, this time with Liebling II- having only taken over the ride on Liebling II just 3 weeks beforehand. Carl scored a fantastic 71.16% and finished 3rd in the grand prix with 70.125%.
With a string of talented horses behind him, all eyes are on Carl for 2012
