Carl Hester

Carl's results are extremely impressive. Team Gold and 2 Individual Silver medals at the 2011 European Championships. Carl was also a member of the Silver medal wining team at WEG 2010 and last represented team GB in the 2004 Olympic Dressage Team, his 3rd appearance in the games.

The 2011 season has been amazing, with history being made at the European Championships in Rotterdam in August. Carl won his first double individual silver medals with Uthopia in the Grand Prix Special and Grand Prix Freestyle. The British team won their first ever Gold medal with an all-time team record score, and Carl led the way. His score was the best of the 64 competitors, with a personal best of 82.568%. He achieved 10's across the board for the extended trot, closely followed by his Rider score of five 10's and two 9's. It was quite a weekend for the British team, and particularly for Carl - what a performance to have a trio of scores over 80%.

Uthopia and Valegro have achieved great scores at all the international shows that Carl and Charlotte have competed at. With a string of talented horses behind him, all eyes are on Carl for 2012. He and Uthopia really deserve to be at Greenwich, and they surely have a fantastic chance.

Carl now holds 51 National Titles and has been National Grand Prix Dressage Champion five times. Carl continues to be one of the UK's most prolific home-grown talents and is much sought after for both his training and riding talent, here in the UK and abroad. Since Saracen Horse Feeds started working with Carl in 2004, his horses have gone from strength to strength and Carl is quick to acknowledge the part Saracen have played in getting them there:

2: Use the same warm-up routine you do at home, don't change because you are at a show.
